Due to the icy road conditions, school has been cancelled for Tuesday, February 9th.
On December 17, 2009 the District was officially notified that we were awarded the 2009 Annual Distinction in Performance Award by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This award recognizes districts for demonstrating consistent improvements or high achievement on the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) performance standards. This is a direct reflection of our staff’s hard work and dedication to educating the children of the district. I would like to thank all our staff for their efforts.
We are currently exploring financial institutions interest in purchasing qualified school construction bonds. These low interest bonds will be granted through an application process that will begin in April. The North Callaway Board of Education reviewed the projects that will be completed with the proceeds from the bonds that are issued. They looked at what project we could complete with district personnel, which projects Kromm, Rikimaru, and Johansen, Inc. would complete, and which projects Malicoat-Winslow Engineers, P.C. would complete. The attached spreadsheet details who will complete each of the upcoming projects.

This is the third national award the program has received in the past two years. In 2008, the Digital Outreach Program received the Ethel Percy Andrus Award for Innovation in Education. Earlier this year,

The North Callaway School District will vote on a bond issue on November 3rd. After much consideration, the school board decided to ask the voters to approve a $2.5 million bond for maintenance items and to improve the air quality at all four buildings. The school board closely followed the facility committees’ recommendations and narrowed the list to key, critical maintenance items that the school bond will address.
The November 3rd vote is important more than ever before because of our schools’ immediate needs and because two state programs are currently available that would allow us to have a portion of the bond money granted to our district at zero percent interest. Utilizing money from the federal stimulus package, these programs have the potential to save our district up to $400,000 dollars.
Please look over the documents attached below. They explain what items we will be addressing with the projected funds and how much taxes will increase if the bond passes. If you have any questions or comments please let us know. Additionally, you may find these and any future documents under "November Bond" on the left navigation menu.
Thanks for your support,
Bryan Thomsen

Parent Portal is our new resource for parents to use to access student information such as schedules, assignment, term grades, and lunch balances. The new web address is https://sdm.sisk12.com/nc, and you can also find a link in the "For Patrons" menu at the top of this page.
Parents that have not received notification of new passwords may go to the website, click on the Parent tab, then click on "Forgot your password?". Parents will then be asked for their email address (this will be the same one used to setup the old Parentlink system). The new password will be mailed to that address.
Parents still needing to be setup with this resource should contact their school office.
Please note that Internet Explorer 7 is recommended for operating the Parent Portal. Users of Internet Explorer 8 may need to use compatability view to display the page properly.
Clinical providers throughout Missouri are reporting an increase in patients with flu-like illness, many who have tested positive for Influenza A. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is identifying 99% of positive Influenza A cultures as H1N1 and it appears widespread throughout the US. It is unusual at this time of year to see the level of flu activity that has been reported.
