North Callaway R-1 Hires New Activities Director

Kingdom City, MO – March 21, 2025 – North Callaway R-1 is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr.

Dale Long as the Activities Director for the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Long will be succeeding Mr. Kevin O'Neal, who has been hired as the Assistant Principal at North Callaway High School. Mr. Long brings a wealth of experience in education, coaching, and leadership to his new role. With 18 years of educational experience, he is committed to supporting student growth both academically and through extracurricular activities. A graduate of Oak Park High School, Mr. Long earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from William Jewell College. His dedication to student development led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Sports Management from American Public University and a Master’s in School Administration from Northwest Missouri State University.

Throughout his career, Mr. Long has focused on fostering both academic and athletic success. With 18 years of experience as a head coach and eight years as an Activities Director, he has established meaningful connections with students, helping them achieve personal and team success. He is passionate about providing opportunities for students to develop leadership, teamwork, and personal discipline through sports and activities.

High School principal, Mr. Travis Blevins, believes, “Mr. Long’s experience and dedication to students is evident, and he brings a wealth of knowledge to this position. He will make an immediate impact on the Thunderbird community.”

As the new Activities Director, Mr. Long is eager to contribute to North Callaway R-1. He looks forward to supporting student achievement, enhancing school spirit, and building stronger ties with the community through various athletic and extracurricular programs. His experience, dedication, and leadership will be valuable assets to the District.
