Kenya Thompson, North Callaway County R-I School District Honored by School Administrators Association Kenya Thompson, Superintendent of the North Callaway County R-I School District was among eight Missouri superintendents recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding performance as an Emerging Superintendent. Thompson was nominated for the honor by colleagues in the Northeast MASA Region. Thompson was honored during the Annual Awards Banquet at the MASA Spring Conference on March 26 at Margaritaville Resort, Lake Ozark, Missouri. The award is in recognition of outstanding performance in demonstrating the skills that reflect the best in educational leadership. Recipients must be a practicing superintendent in their second or third year of employment and have made a measurable contribution to the school district they serve.

🚗💨 STEM Challenge in Action! 🎈🛠️ Our students had an exciting time deciding between balloon-powered or rubber band-powered cars for their latest project! They dove into the design process, constructing their own vehicles and putting them to the test with live trials in the hallway. 🏎️💨 Through trial and error, they learned that axle construction is no easy feat, and discovered that the balloon-to-mass ratio plays a crucial role in their car's success! 🚀 Great job to all our young engineers for their creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork! 👏👏 #STEM #Engineering #Innovation #StudentSuccess #HandsOnLearning

NCMS students in the gifted program were able to take a field trip to the iconic Gateway Arch yesterday. They had the opportunity to explore the history of western expansion in the United States and the architecture and cultural significance of one of St. Louis' most famous landmarks. Shoutout to Mrs. Boyd, Mrs. Waller, and our amazing 7th-grade STEM students who just submitted their projects to the Science Buddies National Engineering Challenge for 2025! 🚀✨ 12 teams from two STEM classes worked hard to design Rocket Capture devices based on the same challenges MARS engineers face with landing rockets on Mars. After following specific guidelines and experimenting for several days, every team successfully completed their designs. 💡 A huge thank you to Mrs. Boyd for gathering photos and data, and to all the students for their dedication! Mrs. Waller has submitted all the entries to the national competition pages, and we are so proud of the work they’ve done.
