This afternoon and evening, our transportation department and I drove nearly every route in the district, hoping we could hold classes tomorrow. Unfortunately, we've determined that school will not be in session on Thursday, January 9. While we found some roads clear, we encountered areas just around the corner where roads were still covered in ice. We did see several state and county plows, but the underlying ice is proving difficult to clear, especially in spots that didn't receive sunlight today. Student and staff safety will always be our highest priority.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. I know these disruptions are hard on both our students and working families.
The Thunderbird Learning Center (TLC) will remain open on Thursday, January 9.
We will make up this snow day on Monday, March 3.

There will be no school on Wednesday, January 8. There are still many roads in the district that are completely covered and unsafe. Hopefully, the sun will come out tomorrow and improve the conditions enough for students to return on Thursday.
The TLC (TBird Learning Center) will be open on Wednesday, January 8.
Tomorrow's snow day will be made up on February 24, 2025.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

There will be no school on Tuesday, January 7. Many local roads remain uncleared, and a significant layer of ice lies beneath the snow. Therefore, this will be considered a traditional snow day. We will use Inclement Weather Make-Up Day #2 to make up for this snow day, which will be scheduled for Monday, February 3.
At this time, we are uncertain about the rest of the week’s schedule. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
TLC will be in session on Tuesday, January 7.
Thank you for trusting us with the well-being of your students. We take this responsibility very seriously.
Please stay warm and safe.

Attendance matters for student learning. Even small habits like arriving on time have a considerable impact—students who miss more score statistically lower in Math and English than students who attend regularly.
