The Callaway Kids Bank Board of Directors recently volunteered at Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, in the simulated town of JA BizTown. The North Callaway High School board members are Isiah Craighead-Chairman of the Board, Lia Bondurant-Communications Chair, and Austin Brown-new member.
Each day, Junior Achievement works to help young people discover what’s possible in their lives. This is done by helping them connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom. The kids discover that it’s possible to invest in their future, to gain a better understanding of how the world works, and to pursue their dreams.
JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. (Grades 4-6)
